The Catapult Paradigm

Catapult [kat-e-pûlt] vt : to throw or launch

Paradigm [par-e-dïm] n : an outstandingly clear example

We are Bridgit and Sara.  We believe that Christ Jesus was the Son of God, sent to the world to redeem the lost. He is our Lord and Savior, our banner, and our only reason to boast. We don’t want to be excused.  We want to obey our calling, anointed by the Lord. We want to be humiliated and broken down by God’s challenges so that we may be reconstructed, fixed and filled.  Our confidence belongs not in the foolishness of secularism but in the wisdom and truth of God’s glorious grace. Recognizing that the definition of “normal” cannot be applied to anyone, we’ve given in to our idiosyncrasies, recognizing them as potential gifts rather than obstacles.  In embracing them, we’ve taken the first of many steps towards God’s promise for us both. Striving to welcome the changes initiated by the fire of God, we won’t shrink back but rather endeavor to be emboldened by it.

To take on this challenge, we are committing to the Lord and to ourselves a set of standards; standards that should promote and enable our continual spiritual growth. We are taking responsibility not only for our own but for each other’s daily devotion and prayer habits, as well as encouraging each other to read and consistently rely on Scripture.  We aim to promote emotional and spiritual maturity.  As women of God, our physical purity should reflect our spiritual maturity. That includes eating healthily, staying fit, and dating in a Christ-centered way.

As the Lord calls us to live our lives righteously, he also calls us to be responsible stewards of his financial blessings. We as a household want to encourage generosity while maintaining stability. That includes tithing, saving, and overall fiscal wisdom. In other words, keeping track of what’s in our pockets!

We’ve chosen the above accountability disciplines to enable ourselves to grow exponentially. Such growth leads to maturity, a maturity that doesn’t depend on our own knowledge or talents but trusts in the sovereignty of God, while meeting all of life’s uncertainties with breathless expectation! As we retain this neotony, a type of childlike outlook, we remain malleable to God’s workings in our lives!

We both feel that God has blessed each of us with core competencies that compliment each other in accomplishing the Lord’s will.  We want to hear his directives with clarity so that we might use them responsibly.

We’ve found transparency with each other and want to communicate that same level of authenticity with the rest of the Christian community.  It’s extremely important to us to be honest about both our struggles and successes with each other and the world around us.  This manifests a sincere spiritual environment and constantly reminds us of the line between arrogance and “confident humility”.

“The Catapult Paradigm” is our mission statement, designed to give us a practical method to launch each other towards explosive spiritual growth and to play our part in manifesting a revolutionary Christian community.
